Curtis Widem
Curtis Widem is an artiste/teacher who somehow finds time to create art. He is a full-time NYC Department of Education Elementary School Art Teacher who received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Hartford Art School, with a Major in Experimental Studio. He received a Master of Arts in Art Education from Adelphi University, and his artwork has been exhibited throughout NYC and the United States.
Widem’s “Free Art Dude” (www.freeartguy.com), where he hands out free art while wearing a Dada-esque costume, has performed all over NYC. His “Thing Machine” (www.thingmachine.com), an info-comedy skit in a vending machine, has performed at the Guggenheim Museum, the NY Fringe Festival, the Wadsworth Atheneum, and dozens of other arts organizations and non-profits throughout NYC and New England.
