James Wenkle

James Wenkle received his BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and School of Design in 1960 and his MFA from the University of Kansas in 1962. In the 1960s he exhibited at the Nelson-Atkins Museum in Kansas City, the Museum of Modern Art's Summer Penthouse exhibition, the Amel Gallery in New York and the Allan Stone Gallery, among other venues in the Midwest. He has taught at the University of Kansas, Ohio State University and the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, where he exhibited as well. Wenkle passed away in 2002 in Whitewater, WI.
