Jimmy Valdez-Osaku

Jimmy Valdez-Osaku (b. 1975) is an artist living and working in New York City. As a poet, painter, and cultural activist, his paintings and art installations have been exhibited in New York, San Juan, Havana, Santo Domingo, Boston, Cannes, Paris, Tokyo, Madrid, Toronto, and other places around the world. Since 2004, he has been organizing and curating art exhibits in various cultural centers in New York City And Union City, New Jersey to include: “Poetas que pintan” 2004, “Undertow” 2012, “6to Piso” 2013, “Te Deum” 2014, “Beautiful Memory of Horror” 2015, “Wabi Sabi” 2016, Resilencia 2017, Colateral 2017, ""Fulguration"", “Rock–paper–scissors” and most recently “El ojo Salvaje”. He was a finalist in the Premio Diario Libre de Arte Contemporáneo (2015). Among its awards received highlights ""Ultramar Theater Award 2009"". Currents shows in Boston (Bunker Hill) and Cannes, France.
Jimmy Valdez-Osaku, has a dozen publications (poetry, theater, and short stories). In 2018 he was granted the honor of dedicating the international book fair in New Jersey.
