Luciano Minguzzi

Italy 1911-2004

Luciano Minguzzi was a sculptor who initially worked with traditional materials such as wood and stone but later shifted to metal. He explored abstract forms and geometric shapes in his sculptures, often creating works that incorporated elements of balance and tension. Minguzzi's style evolved over time, reflecting influences from Constructivism, Cubism, and Abstract Expressionism.

During World War II, Minguzzi was involved in the resistance movement against the fascist regime in Italy. After the war, he became a prominent figure in the Italian art scene and exhibited his sculptures in numerous exhibitions both in Italy and internationally.

Minguzzi's sculptures can be found in  public spaces and museums worldwide, including the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C. His works often combine elements of solidity and movement, creating a dynamic interplay between form and space.
