For 'The Coming of the Space Age' Arthur C. Clarke selected & edited 36 science writers to describe the trials, glories and visions of space scientists. Clark authored many award-winning books of science fiction and real science, but is best known for '2001: A Space Odyssey', the novel and screenplay he co-writes with movie director Stanley Kubrick.
Born in 1917 in England, Arthur C. Clarke served as an RAF officer during WW2, in charge of experimental radar equipment. A graduate of London's King's College (with top honors in physics and mathematics), Arthur C. Clarke was Chairman of the British Interplanetary Society, a member of the Academy of Astronautics, Royal Astronomical Society and many other scientific organizations, and is credited with originating the concept of communications satellites.
Volume and dust jacket are in excellent collectible condition.
