Anne Hall

American b. 1954
Anne Hall was raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan and moved to New York in the mid 1970’s to study at Parsons School of Design. She worked for Geoffrey Beene as an assistant for four years. Hall then advanced to be responsible for the Beene Bag collection, Geoffrey Beene’s label for more affordable, casual, ready-to-wear clothes. In a 1985 New York Times interview, Ms. Hall professed that she considered Geoffrey Beene to be her mentor, from who she had learned ''to take risks - to put together things that do not seem to go together.''
