Though born in Italy, Antonio Cirino graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 1909, eventually teaching there for jewelry design for 35 years. In the 1920s, he became one of the founding members of the Rockport Art Association, where he would produce his most important paintings. Eventually, he was accepted into Salmagundi Club in NYC in 1926 and the Providence Art Club and since then, has received over 79 prizes for his paintings.
