Japanese Arita Octagonal Bowl. Produced in Arita modeled after popular Chinese pieces of the time, this bowl is very well painted with dragon and cloud motif in the well and flowers, phoenix, and mythical beast on the outside. Completed with various geometric and gilt designs. Mark on bottom kigyoku houtei no chin (??????) meaning "rare precious treasure". Offered along with a small modern Japanese porcelain dish and a small stoneware shigaraki bowl. Likely 1790-1830
