Cecily Brown

Installation view courtesy of Paula Cooper Gallery

Catch Cecily Brown’s latest exhibition at Paula Cooper Gallery, where her newest paintings and works on paper reimagine themes from her recent survey, Death and the Maid, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art through the lens of The Five Senses by Jan Brueghel the Elder and works by Peter Paul Rubens. This show, her first solo in New York since Death and the Maid, features her signature blend of dynamic brushwork and layered imagery across media, including paintings, drawings, and UV prints. With every piece, Brown’s fascination with art history and sensory experience is vividly reawakened, making this a must-see for any art lover.

Richard Serra, Every Which Way, 2015

Experience Richard Serra’s monumental installation Every Which Way at David Zwirner’s 537 West 20th Street gallery, where sixteen towering steel panels draw viewers into an immersive exploration of space and movement. Arranged in a staggered grid, these imposing slabs — ranging up to eleven feet high — invite you to navigate their sheer verticality, echoing the shifts and countersteps of an urban environment. This work from 2015 highlights Serra’s fascination with architectural presence, making each turn and sidestep feel both deliberate and instinctive in a space that constantly evades full comprehension.

Jadé Fadojutimi, Untitled, 2024 Acrylic and oil pastel on canvas

Explore the immersive world of Jadé Fadojutimi’s DWELVE: A Goosebump in Memory at Gagosian’s 522 West 21st Street gallery, her first solo exhibition in New York. In her vibrant new paintings and works on paper, Fadojutimi fuses color, line, and texture to probe themes of identity and emotion. Layers of gestural marks evoke natural landscapes while remaining abstract, creating dense, energetic compositions that invite viewers to dwell and delve. Accompanied by a soundtrack that reflects her artistic process, Fadojutimi’s work becomes a sensory experience, each piece an abstract “visual essay” of vivid color, tactile movement, and dynamic expression.
